You went some way to putting my mind at rest in that its only been 11 days,so far, and that he may well be sulking! I was wondering that myself. He seems unusually cross with me, as if its my fault he got lost, cold and then caught! Perhaps hes just in a bad mood, anyone know how long it will last? This is the second iggy I've had, but this one is taking alot longer to really tame, he's much moodier. The problem now is that he wont drink water, never has done. When he was eating well I didn't worry about it, but now, it is a problem, what to do? He has got water in his cage, just a dish to drink from. He used to have a big bowl to swim in but all he did was crap in it, so I gave that up! I'll just be a bit more patient I guess! Do you not realize that when they crap in that water dish, that is what we all call potty trained. It is alot easier to remove that pan and rinse and disenfect it than it is to clean up that crap in his cage.. Do you not agree.:0) Besides Each and everytime they get into that water they will smell it and therefor get some water in them!! While I was up stairs writing my last post my iggy was sneakily eating some pineapple! I wasn't positive, but pretty sure. Anyway, next day I put out the usual three plastic trays but I counted 10 different items[see,I've been trying to tempt him!] He ignored it most of the day, but mid afternoon I caught him eating a bit of mangy old leaf from yesterday! It was up the top end of his cadge were he was basking, his food was down the other end. so I moved the food, he still hissed at me [he's defiantly sulking] but, he eat every living thing! So, success, I guess he's back to normal and I'll just have to wait for the sulks to wear off, they are worse than kids! Some igs can eat it with no issues how ever others can't. You would be best sticking to apples, grapes, melons and berries. Link to Post - Back to Top   Logged sincere2iguana Full Member member is offline Joined: Jul 2009 Gender: Male Posts: 90 Re: more about my escapee « Reply #4 on Nov 11, 2009, 7:54pm » well my largest iguana don't even drink water. i say u might catch him drink from his water bowl once every month sometimes its even longer then that. your iguana can get most his moisture from the humidity or from the water that on his food. try soaking his food in water every time it is time for your iguana to eat. that what i do with my largest. that or soak up a piece of wheat bread with water and give it to him.. now my 2 youngest they drink water i say maybe 2times a week.
