I bought a little blue iguana because it was skinny and I wanted to save it. The guy who owns the store said he didn't even know it was in the cage! What a jerk!!!I already had a little green one but my kitten broke into the cage while we were sleeping and played rough with him and he was dead when I woke up. I fixed the cage and my 7 year old, my husband and I are very upset. We loved the green iguana a lot. My skinny lizard (Bones) escaped the darn cat, I found it in my shoe and is well. Now that the skinny lizard is alone I am praying it will get some meat on it. The green iguana was a male I think, it was dominant and his skin under the chin were always out. I feed Bones bell peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, grapes, and monkey bread every morning so it will have a verity to chose from and it eats and I am worried. I will take him to the vet if he don't show any weight gain by next week. It eats and is very active. I give her baths everyday cause I fear for dehydration. I think its a girl because she is genital and long and skinny. I have a UV light. You see the green one, he was healthy, cool, and now he is gone!

See how the green lizard always dominated her. Also, at the pet store Bones was the smallest one in there, they were all medium sized.

Umm I don't even know what to say but IF that is a green Iguana it is dying. Like right now it is dying a slow death. Please take it to a vet right now..or Tuesday if at all possible.
That substrate is no good, I would put newspaper in it. Give him dark leafy greens like collard turnip or mustard.
I am surprised he is alive right now.... You need a good vets advice on this. There probably isn't a whole lot of time for him/her.

I agree. A vet is needed NOW! The iguana is starving and seriously dehydrated. The iguana will need fluids and probably an anti parasite treatment. You also need to seriously brush up on your husbandry! There should be nothing in the cage in the way of substrate that the ig can get in its mouth. Also your diet is completely wrong. But first things first. You need to get that ig to a vet NOW or you are going to loose it.

Boy!! Totaly agree with getting him to the vet as soon as possible, but until then please try soaking him in the sink or tub for awhile each day!! Hopefuly he will try to taste the water and perhaps consume some at the same time. That Vita Spray is doing absolutly nothing for him as they do not absorbe much in the way of liquid through the skin. As for the other dominating him, that is what usualy happens when 2 are kept together and the lesser of the 2 is the one to pay.. Dominance plays a big role in stress and alot of stress can be very harmful. When stressed alot they can tend to shut down. But as the other one is gone that shouldn't be of concern now.. When ill parasites play a big role in making things worse than what they already are. He does need to see a vet if you are planning on helping him get back to good health.
