Hi again~ I have another question. I have been watching Lenore alot and have noticed that on some days she will eat 2 or 3 bowls of food, and be quite active. Then on other days she might eat only one bowl of food, and be less active. Is this normal? Karen

Hi Karen- Yes, very normal. An Ig will eat until it's content. Right now (spring) they are bulking up and will tend to binge eat. All very normal. Good for you for keeping a close eye on her. Never be afraid to ask questions, it's what we're here for.

Yes, that's quite normal. Just like us, some days they are hungrier than others. As long as it all balances out, there is no need for you to be concerned.

Bob does the same thing, I never know how much he will eat any one day, and I hate to waste food by letting it sit uneaten in the cage. I feed him the same amount each morning -- adult ig so about 1.5 quarts. When I return from classes I give him a fresh plate with less in it. Each time he cleans off a plate I refill it with a little less. I would rather fill it many times than have a large plate full sit there uneaten.

Hi Mark- You are exactly right. Feed as much as they will eat and use frequent refills as opposed to letting a large portion sit out for a long time. Iguanas are the Reptile equivalents of cows after all. ;D
