The last couple of days have been hot and humid (My God, is this really Michigan?). I've been taking advantage of this to get Zilla out to soak up some natural UV. It seems as if he doesn't want to eat now, and I'm not sure if the two are connected somehow. Will taking him outside affect his appetite? he was eating like a pig before that. And if that is the cause, he surely will adapt to going outside and eating healthy again, won't he?

Igs are creatures of habit, any change can cause stress. Bob did this initially -- when I started to take him out -- but now loves to go out and hates to return.
I am betting that this will pass within a few excursions. If not you could try giving him a plate of salad while outside, just don't get trained.

Mark's right about igs being creatures of habit. I have the feeling before long the REAL UVB will increase his appetite and you won't have any trouble with his diet.
Zair gets fed first thing in the morning so by the time I put him out in the late morning on the weekends he has eaten a good portion of his food...then bringing him in about an hour before lights out allows him to finish it up.
