I was wondering if it is ok to give algae disc to iguanas as treats my iguana ate some i heard that some forms of blue-green algae are harmfal to iguanas i also checked the ingredients no animal proteins but it does have spiulina algae a form of blue-green algae.

I've never heard of anyone feeding them to igs. When in doubt,...don't!

I totally agree with Merlin. Why risk it? and there really is no reason to use a commercial product as a treat when ya have fruits and veggies around that will do a better job.

I will save the algea for my consumption. Nori -- kelp which is a type of red algea -- is great with rice. Sushi is easy to make but I have yet to play with Sashimi (raw fish).

Another problem other than the "not knowing" part I see with these things is that they are dry. I would assume so anyway. Anything that is compressed into a disc or pellet means it has been completely dehydrated and pressed into a smaller form.
Igs have a tendency to be in a chronic state of dehydration when the habitats we make for them are not ideal, OR they do not take in enough fluids orally. These compound that problem by pulling moisture from the igs fluid stores causing even greater dehydration...or causing it when there was not a problem to begin with.
