i recently went to meijers and bought some collard greens and dandilions. the last batch of greens lasted for a long time and i would like to know if this is a good method for keeping food.....
i chop the greens and put them in ziploc containers (the disposable ones) that worked very well. after three weeks the greens were still crispy and fresh looking. i have read some posts were people said they bought food for the next five or six days. i would like to know if i am keeping the food for to long, it still is very fresh...

I spend an hour cleaning, drying and tearing greens. Then putting them into ziploc baggies with a paper towel to soak up moisture, or into containers the same way. Mine only last 2 WEEKS MAX. They really only stay good for about a little over a week and half. When the smell, they aren't good. They will go bad. Dandy's at a meyer? Hmmm maybe next time I'm buy a meyer I'll try them for dandys.

mark said meijers has a great produce section, so i tried it out and they have everything for your iggy needs at a good price ;D. it said turnips up on the board but i could not find them. that is what i was really looking for.i got a gigantic bundle of colard greens for 1.25 at meijers. farmer jack was like almost 3.00 for a quarter as much. i have like 6 zipploc containers in the fridge of collard greens lol, the dandilions were only 1.25 also. i hope lenard is hungry...

I realize ya'll are just kiddin each other with the Bush/Kerry jokes, but I decided to remove the remarks anyway. Some people would find it offensive and I would prefer that we don't take that chance here. Thanks, --Tesa
