Does anyone know if these are toxic or edible? i believe i recall reading something about them on this site but i cant find the post.

I've often wondered myself about that...I wouldn't be surprised if half the people here don't know what a fiddle head is, I get the reaction from a lot of people I know here "A fidda-What??" lol I'd love to find out if they're good for feeding because I adore them. I'll do some research and let you know if I find out anything. In the meantime, if anyone else finds something, please do let us know.

A fiddle-what?? ;D I've never heard of 'em before! I have seen in searching that they even sell the darn things in cans in Maine. If nothing else...they are stated to have a high potassium level which can throw the Ca: P ratio off. Potassium restricts phosphorous absorption. It's Ca: P ratio is way out, anyway. The P is over 3x higher than the Ca. If anything it might be an occasional treat, but not as a regular part of the diet by any means... . www.nutritiondata.com/facts-C00001-01c20nH.html
