i was reading down this page a little bit and ran into the "Sprouts?" thread. i then read the sprouts link given by prism.
now my question is.. is this the same for young collards? i grow my own collard greens. seign goes nuts over the small, young collard greens. they are anywhere from 1.5 to 4 inches long. does the info about sprouts apply to this? Its not like all the collards he gets consist of small baby collard leaves, but i do add quite a bit of them in if im running low on normal callards that day.
wutcha think?

As long as the greens are growing and have formed the leaves they are nutritious. The problem with sprouts is that they have just emerged from the seed and have basicly used up what nourishment was in the seed for the sprouting. It is after the plant is growing and providing food for itself that the plant has any nutrional value. Before that its basically cellulose and water!
