Ive been adding water to Iggy, Cleo and Hannibals salad, now all 3 seem fatter than normal. Is there such a thing as too much water for an Ig?

Do they "squish" when they walk...;-D
All you need is a good misting to the salad. There is such a thing as water poisoning, I'm just don't know how much applies to iguanas. They may just look fuller because they ARE getting the right amount of fluid intake.

squish squish lol no they dont ;D. I add maybe a tablespoon of water maybe a little more to Iggy and Cleos food, they hate taking baths so I only bath them 2 times a week or if they manage a poopy mess. I cant believe how big these two have gotten since I last put up full body pics of them, I may try to post some.

A tablespoon isn't even as much as I put on...or squirt into Zair's mouth. When I mist him I "part the lips of green" by getting right up close. He doesn't always open his mouth, but I can see him swallowing and he lays there letting me do it. I've come to the conclusion he decided he can allow me to serve his majesty and his whims of fancy...or...he's just a lazy lizard who doesn't even feel like opening his mouth!

;D Igs are great!!!!!! Never fail to make me laugh. Even Hannibal is funny when he bites me and whips at me. It may be more than a table spoon that I give but they seem content with it. along with a warm misting.

I like to mist Sancho's food too. At one point when he wasn't eating much and the air was really dry I would use a syringe and squirt the water into his mouth, he didn't seem to like it much but didn't "complain" like I thought he would. he he

I don't think you need to worry about your ig consuming too much water. It is usually the other way around and they don't get enough water! When I feed Zok I run water over her greens and this usually ends up with a half inch of water left standing in the bowl!

Yup! Water poisoning and over-hydration are not something us iggy parents have to worry about. Its all we can do to make sure they get ENOUGH water.
