Hey all. This is'nt too much of a concern, but I'm interested to see if anyone else has seen, heard, or maybe have this happen to their iguana. I noticed one day that the tip of Zilla's tail was slightly bent upward. However, it doesn't seem to be broke in that area. Before, when he use to lay all sprawled out on the top shelf, his tail was perfectly straight all the way down. I do know that when he was just a tiny little dinosaur, he did whip his tail so hard that the very end broke off, but that healed quickly with no problems. I can straighten it easily by carefully bending it down, but after a while it has the slight, upward curve in it again. Really weird. It definitly is not life threatening, but is there a way to straighten it back out, or will time take care of it, or is it something he'll always have? Just wondering.
Joe

Hi Joe-
Chalk it up to one of his special charateristics. He'd be easy to pick out in a line up! LOL
The end of their tails is like a birth mark to them. Every one differs in some way. Rex had his mashed in a car door when he was younger and it's just very dry at the end.
Sounds like he'll be fine and it may straighten out after many sheds, or not.
Good luck.

If it's new tail growth, this often starts growing in crooked and can stay that way for some time until it completely grows out. There are some that are permanently crooked after regrowth.

My iguana lost its tail hen it was young and it has grown back with a stumpy tip.
