Rocks are fine as long as they're well secured. As for the moss...I know I've seen it some set-ups...and I really don't think it the greatest idea, but it does tend to hold in humidity. As long as it's not loose on the ground it may be ok...like maybe mounting it on something more vertical rather than between the rocks.
Something I just thought about~
Those hanging thistle seed feeders for finches - the kind in a small netted bag - would be an awesome way to use the moss and allow for higher humidity levels. You can fill the bag and secure fake plants to the outside for camouflage and hang them from the top. This way there's not way for the ig to ingest any of this. Then when they start drying out - just dip them in the sink - squeeze out any excess and hang them again.

I think this weekend will be a trip through walmart and wipe out a whole end-cap full of those things. I have two cham cages, the crested gecko and one HUGE iguana cage I would like to try this out in. I'm kinda jazzed about the whole idea.

I think I'd like something a little stronger for Zair's enclosure. The smaller guys I bet I could get away with the hose. I happen to have nylon socks...:-D

Maybe an air tube in the middle of the moss for a little extra?

So if the moss is secured so the iguana cant eat it should be fine? Also I wander if there is any kind of fake moss... that actually looks like moss? Another thing.... If i were to section off part of the enclosure with a built in water area, with a large drain in it i could just unplug the drain hose it down and clean it... That would work, right? This is a rough plan for future "Adult" enclosure in PDF, just something i whiped up in 30min. www.kevintest.50g.com/Ig-Tank.pdf

So if the moss is secured so the iguana cant eat it should be fine? Yes...it can be used if there's no way he can eat it. There is fake Spanish moss...very cool looking. This can wrap around toes and such though, and if accidentally ingested could wrap up in the intestines. Another thing.... Absolutely! There are several enclosures I've seen over the years that have had a pool with a drain incorporated into the design. You may want to think about a good filtration system since igs naturally tend to "go" in the water. This will save on needing to empty daily to maybe every few days or so. There are even homemade waterfalls going into some of these pools. Let your imagination run with it! The design you have so far looks pretty good. Do a search on enclosures (including from the Herp Center) and you may see some ideas you can include for your own project... ;D

I have a drain in mine, It holds about 7 gal. Its made from a plastic mortar mixing tub, I put a standard sink drain and a 1 1/2 in valve. simple to drain and wash and rinse daily and can be removed easily for bleaching. The more cracks and crevices, objects and such do mean more work to clean.
