So I hear if you want wood that you found in a woods or something you have to treat it to prevent mites and other bugs from entering the cage.
I've heard that you can bake the wood in the oven at low temp. for several hours.
If the wood is to large or long for the oven you can soak in the bathtub with a bleach and water solution for several hours. Then make sure all the bleach is out of the wood and dry in the sun.
Is this correct or are there any other steps to follow?

All of those methods are correct...;-D...except for the amount of time in the oven. 250 for 20 mins is all I do.

When I bring home an iguana log(usually from the beach) I just build a hot fire in my wood stove and set the wood on top of it for the night - it fries any bugs in there as I haven't had any problems.
