Another thing for anybody with a female ig to remember is that she also needs LOTS of exercise. You'll notice her become MUCH MORE active when she's gravid. Just make sure to give her a lot of space and opportunity to run around and climb.
BTW, Cyndi, this year, Hercules has been in season for almost 10 months now. Hopefully this unusual season that a lot of people have been having with their male igs is only a "this year" kind of thing.

Orko is going to be 2 years old this Christmas. I noticed a change in his behavior a couple days ago. Every once and a while he will head bob at me, and sometimes I bob back. When I do, he bobs even more. After his second bob I just pet him or feed him. However... when I bobbed at him three days ago, he immediately went into hatchet mode, bobbed fiercely and prepped his tail. He seems to be willing to go into hatchet mode at the drop of a hat. When I put my face up to the screen he even gaped at me (has never done it before). I guess my bobbing days are over. Is this a sign that he’s coming into season?

It means he's going into the "terrible twos". This is a time when the ig is coming into his hormonal changes and will be testing you for dominance and seeing what he can get away with. Just keep on top of him and watch your fingers, nose and cheeks... ;D.
