It probably will...just keep encouraging her to go into her "nest". She may pop out occasionally, but when she's really ready, she'll stay in there and go to work. Mercury laid 47 eggs in less than 6 hours during the year I actually witnessed her egg-laying. I put her in her nesting box and covered it with a towel that day...she came out a little more than 5 hours later looking like a little skeleton. ;D

Well, she has a large container of dirt... she's in a quiet and dark, unused room. She has water, her heating pad, and a bowl of greens - just in case.
Last year, she laid in mid-March, so it wont surprise me too much if she has to stay in there for a week or so. On the other hand, unlike last year, she is now totally isolated from the other iggies, people, and cats.

I found that with Mercury, she laid her eggs almost exactly TO THE DAY each year. She surprised me with the first and last clutches though. The first, she laid in her "cage" (I call it a "cage" because it had no door ) while completely ignoring the nesting box I had set up for her. The last she also laid in her "cage" because she was a week early. I had gotten used to her being especially grumpy on the day prior to laying her clutch. She didn't do it this time...so she surprised me. She was so funny...kept running to that corner and mashing the tile with her feet as if to spread dirt and disguise her nest.
