At this time last year Juan Miguel was halfway through her two-month fast before laying her eggs. This spring she's still eating like a pig and acting perfectly normally. Is it possible that she won't lay eggs this year at all, or should I expect it to happen later in the year?

Yup, its certainly possible that she could have reabsorbed her eggs. This is exactly what Audrey is doing this year, even though she was HUGELY gravid in the web-site photo of her from the place I adopted her (the photo was taken a little over a year ago). In my experience, a female ig will generally lay her clutch of eggs around the same time every year. Although its true that a female ig doesn't need contact with a male to lay eggs, its also true that they won't necessarily lay eggs every year.

Indeed last year Zok absorbed her eggs and this year she laid again. However both times during the height of the gravid period there was a slow down and eventually a cessation in eating.

Hmmm....I've been noticing that the white part of her stool has turned orangish like it's said too when she's producing eggs (for a few weeks now), but her eating definitely hasn't slowed at all, nor has her behavior changed like it did last year. Last spring was her first season, and everything went pretty by-the-book.

Hmmm...sounds like maybe a vet visit might be in order, just to make sure everything is ok.

Orange urates are a good sign of dehydration, but may also be caused by certain foods (usually high-colored ones like strawberries). Try your best to increase fluid intake and see if the urates improve. They should be "white and fluffy".
