Hi everyone,
I've been following this board a while but don't ussually post. I guess its around time I introduced myself and I'll get around to pictures this weekend But first, I need your help on creating a nest box. My recent rescue Missy (got her from shelter in February) is gravid. She's 3lbs 11in SVL and 29in STL. She has some limited mobility and can't grasp much with hands and at one point her back was broken and has since re-fused. So climbing is tough for her but she can do it as long as she doesn't have to pull herself up. At least based on x-rays her bone density looks really good and she's still eating.
My vet reccomended a rubbermaid container with hole in top and mixture of peat moss and sand
How big a rubbermaid should I get for her? Also, Hatfield's design has a tunnel is that better than a hole in the top?
Thank you so much this board has helped me out a lot in the past couple of months, Liz

The tunnel is more natural, but not necessary. You can get away with the hole on the side at the top with a ramp leading up to it. Use a large enough tote that she can crawl all the way in. It doesn't need to be as long as her...the tail curving around will be fine...just not to awfully much.
