Hi Brujah! Great to hear of another ig adopted by an owner willing to put forth the effort to learn proper care. These guys can be complicated, but it's well worth it! Have you been to the "Iguana Care" section? I've tried to condense and simplify the basics there. I hope we can be a help to you. Congrats on your new family member. :-) Click here to go to the care page

First of all ty for the welcome, 2nd ty Tesa for the site..learned alot already. As for pics I should be able to take some this afternoon, got some running around to do for supplies. As for Jade (iggy) she is around 3 1/2 foot..(dont know all the proper lingo yet...lol ) and looks to be in good health..The old owners were a little misinformed on a few things, But she's in a 6ftTx4ftWx2ftD cage but its a wire mesh cage (which i will be building a new castle in the near future). She seems to be adjusting ok...gotta get the lighting set up right..but she was up moving around and exploring this morning(this is the cage she was in so I'm sure that helps her feel a little more comfy..) OK I'm rambling again..lol just a little excited about her still.. ;D sure I'll have a few by this afternoon...so ty for the welcome and talk to you all soon...byeee

Hiya Everyone! I'm Jenn the other half of Jade's parents ;D I finally took a minute to register and just figured I'd say my hello in Blain's thread since this is a joint effort.
Just want to say thanks to everyone who's helped us out so far, as Blain already said she was kind of an unexpected but super surprise.
This site is great with so much wonderful info. and what an awesome bunch of people!!!
I'm sure we'll be here very frequently. Thanks again everyone!!
Jenn

Indeed! Having both sides of a couple being involved with the Iguana makes it much easier! You don't have the " You spent HOW much for a light bulb! problem!

Actually it's really funny because I always said I really didn't want anything bigger than the anoles. All of a sudden I have someone asking me to take their iguana, I was a little hesitant, Blain was super excited. Needless to say that little bugger has managed to wiggle her way into my heart in a big way in a small amount of time. I absolutely adore her. I'm jealous today he's at home spending time with her and I'm stuck at work. Guess I'll just have to get in some extra time when I get home
