Hi, my name is Carmen, I got Drako from my neighbor's yard sale on 4/25/04. I was told that he was 7 to 9 months old at that time. The same old story, he was in a tank way too small.....no lights or heat of any kind...and..."Just feed him lettuce and crickets" He measured 6" SVL & 18" STL. Now, as of 6/1/04 he is 6.5" SVL & 23" STL. We live in the Central San Joaquine Valley of California, so he can enjoy a lot of outside time. I wanted to add some pictures, but am not quite sure how Can someone tell me how to do this?
Hi Carmen! Drako looks like a beauty. It sounds as if you've had experience with iguanas before. Drako's a lucky guy that you picked him up. He is growing well too. ;D Please let us know if we can be any help to you.
Welcome Carmen! You'll find there are a lot of wonderful iggie people here to share with and ask questions. Drako is a cutie. . .it's hard to remember they are soo small to start out when they are full grown.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. Drako is my first Ig, 'tho I've been in love with Ig's for a very long time About two days before we knew about Drako, my husband, Rick, and I were talking and I mentioned that I still wanted an Ig someday. When the opportunity popped up so soon, it was like fate or something.....I HAD to get him. I went online and just started gathering as much info as possible. Then my son bought me "Iguanas for Dummies" for Mother's Day ;D
I am going to try posting some pics....
My pretty baby....

Drako supervising the prep of his (or her) salad
I moved my pics over to photobucket....my web hosting service was being a pain
A yard sale is where my Stanley came from. A friend got it from there, he really didn't know how to take care of them, so thats when I took him in, but only to pass a couple days later! Just wish the original owner would have put him up for adoption a long time ago!!!! I am still looking for a healthy ig to replace Stanley-but am in no hurry as I want to find the right one! I am glad that Drako is in your care now-he is much happier I am sure!

I think the neighbor "saw us coming" so to speak - he knows I [glow=red,2,300]LOVE[/glow] critters, and asked my husband (while I was at the store) if we wanted to buy him. So.....hubby had the opportunity to not even mention it to me But when he told me, I just flipped ;D So back I went to get more cash - paid $45.00 for him and the 20 gal. tank he was in. I don't regret one penny of it!

I live just outside of Turlock. I'd love to meet you and Drako some time soon.
I'm SO glad that someone's on here that's close by!
Hi Steph, I would like to meet you too ;D I'm just outside of Fresno, in Clovis. Do you get down this way very often? Email me privately, and I'll give you my phone #. firstname.lastname@example.org Gil's pic is beautiful, I'd like to meet him too! My husband wants to know how big he is. I just measured Drako this morning, and he has grown 7.5" STL since I got him on 4/25/04 - WOW!
Have you signed up for the meetup? I can't make the one in July - Kids & grandbabies are coming from Portland that week. It would be fun to have a meeting like that.
