Just wanted to say hi to everyone. This is my first post here i just registered. I have 1 female iguana named "iggy". I know the name isnt too original but that was her name when i got her a while back and i didn't want to change it on her. She is about 2 and a half years old. And i have had her for almost 2 of them years. Sadly i may have to adopt her out due to not being able to keep her where i am living now but i am looking for a new place as we speak. So there is a chance i will get to keep my baby. If not i found a wonderful person that will adopt her. She is a member of this board although im not sure of her screen name yet. She just told me today about this website. Anyway i will quit talking before i bore everyone if i havent already! Have a great day! Chris

Hi Chris! It's always good to know that an iguana is in a loving home. Did the place you are in change the rules or what? Hopefully you can find a new place and keep your baby! I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya. Welcome to IZ!

Hi Tesa,
Well the place i am at now in the lease it says only caged animals allowed. So technically i figured she would be allowed. Well they said no exotic animals are allowed. So its either the iguana has to be gone by August 1st or we will be getting evicted. The landlord has been nice tho she has gave me plenty of time she originally said she had to be out in april. So i have been looking for houses but most of them are no pets. I did find one and went and looked at it today but it is really run down and isnt in that great of shape. Just gotta think about it and look at others as they come up. I only got the rest of this month tho. This is a nice site you got here i like it. I recognize a few of the names from the Green Ig Society message board here. I post there once and a while.

Hi Chris and welcome! Lets hope that it works out you can keep your ig. I don't know what I'd do if someone tried to make me give Zok up. (actually I do but this is a family site! )

Hey Chris, I'm glad to see you on here, and yes, welcome from me too. To everyone else, it's me that if he can't find a home-which we all pray that he can cause I know, and probably many do to, what it is like to loose an ig. When I read his post on GIS, I wasn't sure if Iggy was still up as it said that he had to be out in april, but I thought it was worth a shot at any rate, and was kinda curious what happend in the situation (if he found a new home or if he was adopted out), so i sent him my app. Come to find out, he still had Iggy, and was still in the apartment. Thank goodness his landlord let him stay a little longer. As some of you may know, I was accepted for the Iggs at the shelter, and if Chris finds a new home, which i pray he does, i would still consider those ones. I know they are being taken care of very well and are in good hand, not saying that Chris isn't, but just the fact that he is in a bind and I would love to help him out. Chris knows that he has my word that he can come and visit Iggy anytime he wants. Welcome to the Zone and as said before...good luck w/ the house!

Hi Chris, welcome to the site! Have you got any pics? ;D I t would be a shame if you have to give her up, do you two live nearby, would you be able to visit? I would rather find somewhere else than have to give up my ig But if you could just loan her out and get her back when you find some where else that wouldnt be so bad. At least you know she will be cared for.

I would like to update you all on the status of Iggy. Chirs let me know the other day that he is going to have to adopt her out. So, i am gonna be in the process of building her a brand new cage (as well in the process of moving myself this weekend~BUSY). I have the specs of the cage in the housing section. I am hoping to have it done by the time she gets here, he is hoping around the 5th or 6th. It works out nice cause he will be driving through the cities anyways. Everyone wish me good luck with the cage building and Iggy and Chris' safe trip here next week. I will get some pictures of her in her new home as soon as I can-my mom has a digital so it will be nice and easy. Thank you all again for all of your help and support w/ Stanley, and a thank you ahead of time for the future help and support. You guys are great!

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to know Iggy is going to be adopted by someone who will care about her. I'm sure this will make it easier on Chris also. Good Luck and let us know how it goes!

Hi Chris and CCP1083-
Chris, welcome to The Iguana Zone! Glad to have you posting here, even if it is about giving up your Ig.
CCP- Good luck with Iggy. You are a very good person to take in the Ig. Wishing you the best of luck and good health.
Chris/CCP- Is this a GIS listed Ig (Iggy GIS#731, Mountain Iron MIN)? If so, please e-mail the site and indicate the iguana is adopted. I will be sure to remove it from the adoption board. We get so many adoption applications coming through, it's tough when someone goes through the trouble of applying and when we send it, it comes back as adopted. Disappoints everyone. So, if you listed Iggy at GIS, please write to the GIS and let them know you found a home for her. I'm assuming that CCP is Crystal (based on the adoption app.).
It's so nice that the internet can provide places like this to facilitate this type of thing. As an iguana community we grow stronger everyday thanks to people like Tesa who provide wonderful sites for us to frequent, share and learn.
Good luck to everyone, human and reptile alike!
