Hi and welcome to the Zone! There really in't much going on with captivbe bred igs. The price of imports is too low to really make it worth the effort. Plus mating can be really rough physically on iguanas.
Color variations in young iguanas are usuallly only temperary and as they mature they pretty much end up looking the same. And a yellow iguana is a sick iguana.
As suggested there are a lot of homeless iguanas out there avalable for adoption of all sizes. If you get one a bit older you can see what they are going to look like plus you can frequently get one that is already used ot humans and save yourselves some tail whips and bloody scratches! ;D

Hi Rod! Welcome to the Zone. Personally I think igs are cool no matter what their color. Make sure the one you adopt likes you too! Believe it or not, they do have awesome personalities and are each special in their own way.

The orange color is usually the sign of a mature male and frequently the first warning that they are going into a breeding season. Sometimes the orange lasts afterwards but usually it fades out. Adopting an older ig is the only way to see what it will look like as an adult.
