I know you get questions like this a lot, but I haven't seen my question get answered so I am just going to ask. I don't know what to use as the wall for the new home, I don't have that much money. So I can't go over board, and I read that I should get Plexiglas, but thats way over my budget. SO if you could tell me something I can use thats cheap it would be great. Thank you.

Camilo, Plexi does look good, but very costly.
Plywood, sealed with a water based urathane or non-toxic kid safe paint seems to be the most popular for solid walls.
The walls of my big enclosure are either plywood (painted) or recycled glass from old patio sliding doors.
I hope this helps.

It sounds good. Just, am I suppose to use it for all four walls?

for the sides and back you can use any wood that is strong enough to hold up, as long as you seal it.
For the seethrough parts you could build a frame out of wood and attach some sort of durable mesh that can withstand the tourcher of the iguanas claws and not harm the iguana...
But this makes maintaining humidity harder...
Plexiglass is great but... around here for a 6ft x 3ft sheet its like $70.00
I plan on making a frame designed for plexiglass but im going to use the mesh untill i have enough money to get the plexiglass...
just an idea...

What I did with Venus' enclosure, was used 2 wooden screen doors that I bought from Home Depot for $20 each and stapled a clear shower curtain to each door.

I have used a painters plastic drop "cloth" before to seal over the mesh areas on Sancho's enclosure, it's see-through like the shower curtain Jfogle used but cheap cheap! Have fun creating an enclosure...I love building! Do post pics when it's completed!

Painters plastic? Is that what its called. I'm going out tomorrow to buy the supplies to make it. Could you put a picture up of Sancho's enclosure?

I managed to find a picture of what it looks like. I hope that it helps. It's a thin sheet of plastic almost like what you would put on your windows if you lived in the north to keep out the cold. Hope it helps your search:)

It's a plastic netting used for covering plants and orchard trees. Hardware cloth is another option - also in the garden dept at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. and made of sturdier metal.
P.S. I love that pic CB! He's just stretching WAAAAY out there peeking out the door like he's trying to get away with escaping... ;D

Ok. Thank you both for helping me. That was something i had problems finding out what to use. I thought chicken wire, but then I read that it was bad for their skin, and I couldn't afford Plexiglas. So my options were real thin, but now there not. Thank you again for helping me.

P.S. I love that pic CB! He's just stretching WAAAAY out there peeking out the door like he's trying to get away with escaping... ;D Actually that was in season and he was trying to get at me lol He was at the bottom of the enclosure trying to get out when I walked in and he ran up to the top as I opened his door. So I backed away and he positioned himself like that to see if he could manage a jump lol I figured it was a funny picture so I took it and left him to do his thing...I think later that season I got bit. Oh well...ya live and learn.
