I have never dealt with mites before now. I have always known about them and the treatment methods but I think I have a bigger problem. I went to open the blinds in the room where I keep my ig and there were mites on the window! he is across the room and in an enclosure is it possible that the mites are coming from my house! If so how do I get rid of them! Please someone help me figure this out I cant find a link anywhere that says anything about a whole room mite infestation!

Are you sure they are mites? And not gnats? Are they flying or crawling? what exactly do they look like?

I am not really sure as far as I can tell they don't fly and they are tiny and red kind of round I think. I am beginning to think they might be baby ant's is that even possible??

They could be mites or they could be those tiny red bugs that you occasionally find on the sidewalk. Are there any on your Ig?

Jen she posted the same question on HC. The room infestation and the gathering on the window made me wonder if they were really mites as well. It just doesn't sound right.

I didnt think it sounded right either. I would expect the mites to stay very close to the animal. I doubt they are mites.

Thanks. Yeah I did Merlin i am sorry for cross posting I was really worried! My husband and I took the iguana to my job (around the corner) and bug bombed. It was quite the process but everything is bug free as it looks and wiped down for safety. thanks guys whatever they were they are gone for now and hopefully wont be returning.
