My husband and I have answered an ad on craigslist for 3 iguana's. I plan on keeping the older two and letting the young juvi find a new home.
I have a vet appointment to get fecal's done on all of the iguana's and possibly get them all examined. The previous owners had them housed togather I am of course seperating them ASAP. My question is though, I am afraid I might be close to too late for them though. Intallialy they seem in good health besides the light white appearance of thier heads I was wondering stress? I have also read that can be a sign of MBD if it is how often is it linked to that? The medium sized one of the three also has a hump on his back I cant tell if it is a bone or not he seems to move around fine enough but this worries me quite a bit.
They came with a uvb light and according to these people they have always had one on them, as far as supplements, i really doubt they have ever had any. Their diet was very poor they dropped me off some "leftover "iguana food" which consisted of a half eaten can of green beans and romaine lettuce . They also appear to be very filled out and "plump" but I have read this could also be MBD But they are plump in the stomachs too not just the limbs. I just want some advice they will still go to the vet but i need to know whats up my road. No matter what challenge I'm willing to accept the out come of the vet visit's and do everything in my power to help them have great life's.
I dont know how to put pictures on here so they are on Herpcenter here is the link:
