my iguana Red has been acting weird. i started letting him roam out the cage cause it seem that hes a good size that i can keep track of him.. shortly after i started putting him on a leash and taking him outside to run around. ever since that all he do it scratch at the glass ignoring his food. thats not like him he alway stuffs him self. and he use to only scratch at the glass when he wanted some more food. should i be worried and take him to the vet or should i wait it out and see what happens.

hes almost a year. and hes in a 150 gallon tank. hes been eating very lil but he still spend most of his time pressed against a glass. I'm starting to think it was a bad idea to let him run around with me outside cause now he so use to it that he is missing it and he might be alil depressed

So may I ask how old your little one is that is in the 20 gallon!!
150 gallon tank is an ok thing if it has the capability to climb up and not just be on the floor for a 1 year old.. What are the lights that you have on it and where are they situated... Where are your basking points and how hot are they.. Does it have a cool end.. What is that temp??
I would be real careful of using a leash to begin with as it damages the spikes.. And I don't think that you allowing it to go outside has spoiled it. What it has done is shown him that it may be a way of trying to get away from you. Still 1 year old and unless you work through being handeled [not on any kind of leash or free roam] it is still dictating to you how things are going to be. Outside.. Yes!!.. Freedom!!! Untill you have him under your power.. No freedom!! Hands on all the time.. :0) My suggestion on this whole situation is not take it out of the cage and allow it to be free in any form.. Yes!! Take it out everyday for a bath or just to visit, [handeling] but you still have the hands on that it needs to realize that you are the dominate.. Don't offer it to much before you realy know how it thinks and 1 year old is NOT enough.. :0)

not sure of the age of the lil one. but hes like no more then 7 to 8 inch. as for the med one temp in his cage get to 75 degrees on the left side and 65 deg on the right. i have him under my power or i wouldnt let him roam around the house or take him out side. as for the leash thing your right. i notice alil bruise on him so i wont be putting him back on it. the basking point on the left side and i switch it out at nights and put just his heat emiters on. but ill follow your adivse and keep him in so he can get use to being in his cage and start eating the way he use to
