i just adopted a large male iguana and it is obvious that his previous owner didnt properly care for him he is a little bit over 4 feet long his jaw is a little crooked and it looks like there is some old food stuck in his mouth and his skull isnt formed properly he is a little aggresive but i can work with him on that i think he may have mbd although his body isnt deformed i am going to contact my vet in the morning to set up an appointment to get him checked out ill post some pics of him in out and im going to get some betadine and give him?a bath in it he has what looks like a healed burn near his dorsal spikes and i know he was kept in a glass tank possibly with humidity issues cause he has stuck shed all over his body and tail , i misted him cown really well and some of it came off im letting him bask now to warm up he was very cold when he arrived so soon you all will meet my new iguana

Sounds like you have some issues going on. Be very very careful on how much betadine solution you put into the water it should only be enough to make the water look like tea. Let the claws go until you get him to the vet if you are unsure. Chances are it is going to take time to get the nails (after many clippings) down to the length they should be. Pleas post a pic soon. Let us know how the vet visit goes.

i definatly will im just giving him a little time to adjust before taking him out in the cold . no need to stress him out more. he started eating, not as much as i think he should be eating but its a start. im trying to get him more interested in the fruits and veggies, he just picks out the greens ill be posting pics as soon as i get my camera back its out getting fixed

You need to do a bit more research. Its the greens that he needs to be eating most. They should comprise the vast majority of the diet with the fruits and veggies just a slight extra. What exactly are you feeding?
