Hey guys, I really need help, i think my iguana had broke her finger, she escaped from the aquarium last weekend and she had a cut on her finger, i just finished building a cage for her and when i moved her there she didn't move to much, from what i read in the internet i realized i don't have the proper lighting so i bought a UVB florescent, i already had a heating lamp... i've attached a picture of how the finger looks now (the finger is on her left leg), the iggy is 4 months old... i'm really worried and i'm not sure what to do, she isn't stepping on that foot... although once i got the new lamp she started eating more and became a lot more active then before, is she going to get better? what should i do... please advise Attachments:

Hi Sam, welcome to Iguana Zone ;D It is probably just the camera angle but the toe looks severed. I'm sure you know the difference between a broken toe and a missing toe so I'm going to assume its the camera angle. A small cut could be taken care of at home but what concerns me is that she isn't stepping on that foot. There may be more damage to the foot than you can see, since she isn't putting weight on it, so you should probably call a vet. I noticed that it looks like you have wire on the side of the cage - it is common for iguanas to climb on the wire and they end up breaking or even severing toes. You should cover that up with glass, or something similar, so she doesn't end up getting injured from that also. Covering up the wire will also help keep the heat and humidity in, which I'm sure she would like I'm glad you got a UVB bulb and thank you for posting the picture -Jenna
