I am curious to know if any of you have pets other than your iguana(s). Secondly, how does your ig react to them?
I myself have quite a few animals. - 8 snakes - 5 leopard geckos - 24 tarantulas - 2 dogs - And of course, my sweetie Paco
My Paco never has contact with any other "exotic" that I have: snakes, geckos or tarantulas. But she does see my dogs everyday and will sometimes get closer when free roaming.
She doesn't fear my dogs (both are total wussies!), doesn't even bother flashing her dewlap anymore (she did the first or second time). The dogs stay away from her when she's free roaming which is always supervised, and actually she tends to go towards the dogs herself. I found her on a couple of occasions on the dog bed with my retired greyhound!
At first I would prevent her from getting close to the dogs but they themselves seem to like keeping their distances. Now, they pretty much completely ignore her and vice versa.
What are your experiences with other pets?
Pixie

My ig gets on O.K. with the indoor dogs and the cat. They sometimes share the same sun, but when Zair is really on the move they go the other way. Here's my favorite sun pic: album4055.fotopic.net/p406533.htmlThe ferrets will try to kill Zair in a heartbeat...so they are never out at the same time. The bird doesn't tolerate any other animals...so he is kept away from everyone. Here's the run-down (I even have this list saved in MS word for easy copy and paste updating changes as needed...lol): Sierra (F) - the 11 yr. old pit bull (neighbors litter) Red Dog (F) - the 7 yr. old chow mix (stray) Perdy (F) - 2 1/2 yr. old dachsy/feist –(from friend) Anna (F) – approx 1 yr old chow/golden retriever (foster) Shasta (F) - 15 yr. old Siamese (Friends litter) Roo (F) - 2 yr. old the only girl ferret ("I WANT RAISINS!") (from shelter) Bandit (M) - 2 1/2 yr. Ferret ("I want the socks on your feet") (from shelter) Oddball (M) - 2 1/2 yr. ferret ("GIMME GRAPES!") (from shelter) Ozzy (M) - 2-3 yr old ferret ("Everything cloth is mine to hide!") (from shelter) Aaron (M) - 2-3 yr. old ferret ("Play with me then love me.") (from shelter) Zair (M) - 5 yr. old ig (my pride and joy) (petstore) Icecube (F) - 2 yr. old ig (a rescue and Zair's pride and joy) Taji (M) – 1 ½ - 2 yr old (rescue – foster) Mojo (M) - young ball python (surrender) Posco (M) - 3 yr. old anole (my mom for my daughter) Arachnia (F) - 14 yr. old curly-hair tarantula (from sister) Mutt (M) - 7+ yr. old yellow-collared macaw (gift) Felony (M) – 2 months – albino mouse (rescue) Damsel (F) - young - pit bull mix (emergency foster) Apache (M) - 7 wks old...Damsels pup - Pit/akita Comanche (M) - " " " Cherokee (M) - " " " Dakota (M) - " " " (we're giving him a home ourselves...GAWD...like we need another dog, but he IS precious and oh so sweet!) All fosters are up for adoption and on the Petfinder site!!

1 hubby (who would want any more of those? ;D) 1 16 yo son (who NEEDS any more of those? ) Gil (The sweetest man in the house) Essie the 6 yo cat. As far as how Gil and Essie interact. Essie runs, Gil chases. And really, that's what she gets for patting him on the head when he was little.

Hmm... I have: 4 male green iguanas- Grotto (not sure of age, we got him as a Rescue. he is full grown thou), Hercules (maybe 4? -he is a foster), Godzilla (3yrs), Magellan (2yrs) 1 female green iguana- Reptar (3 years) 2 Baby Desert Iguanas-Jack and Zini (about 6 months) 1 Crocodile Gecko-Oscar (age unknown) 3 Corn Snakes- Roxi (Female, 5yrs?, Rescue), Casper (Male, 4yrs?, Rescue), Donte (about 3-4 months? We just got him) 1 Ball Python (Monty, age unknown,Rescue) 1 Red Tailed Boa (Corona, about 10 months) A Rabbit (Angel the Satan Bunny) 5 breeder mice (if they count?) And a partridge in a pair tree ;D
Zilla doesnt really like the other animals besides his Wifey Reptar. He is very protective of her. I put the baby desert iggys up to his cage and he tried to eat them through the plexi glass...HOW SAD! All the iguanas give the snakes the "what the heck is that" look. And Naturally none of the male iguanas like each other. We try to keep them out of each others vision as much as possible. Jess

No Ursula it doesnt make you poor not to have a huge list of animals...it makes you smart and lucky because you have more time than the rest of us to give your iggy and cat all the attention they could possibly have without the worry of any other animals coming in between.....have a nice day.....Lyn

Well that bamboo junk is actually a dracaena and is of no relation to bamboo at all. Calling it bamboo is just a marketing ploy playing on the Asian thought fad.
