Hey yall! Im moving today, very excited and nervious about getting the reptiles settled in. It will be the first time our dominant males meet. Im kinda worried about that. Zilla knows he is the man of the house, he has only lived with Magellan and reptar. Both of which are smaller than him. And Grotto has only lived in Delaware at my boyfriends with Hercules and his parents iguana Zilla. He knows he is the man of the house there so Im kinda scared to see the two kings meet. We are definitly aranging everyone so the males cant always see eachother thou. My biggest fear, is that Grotto has never seen a female and Zilla has lived with Reptar all his life and has been pretty good with her (they sleep on eachother at night its so cute). Im afraid with Zilla seeing Grotto it might make Zilla more agressive twards Reptar, trying to claim her. It might call for emergency cage building! But anywho, Im prolly not gonna be on too often maybe once a week since I dont have the internet there. So Im sorry if I dont reply quickly I havent forgotten bout yas!
Good luck with all your iggys!
Jess and Zilla, Reptar, Magellan, Grotto, Hercules, and Jack n Zini (the baby deserts)
Oh btw, does anyone know anyone who owns Desert Iguanas? I havent found anyone and have a few questions! THANKS

I wouldnt even let the males see each other period...just knowing the other is in the house could cause stress probs and many probs with your females...I would be extremely careful introducing any of them...It very well could be the end of the lifelong relationship between the others...
I have recently taken in another male and tho their cages are side by side, they have never seen each other as yet...I want to keep it that way...If they come out I move them into another room so there is no sighting....good luck with your move Lyn

That is my plan for now. I am putting Magellan and Zilla and Reptar in our bedroom for now. I eventually wanna seperate Zilla and Reptar but that wont be for a couple months or so. I know they will be crushed, well Zilla will atleast. But he will get over it. He has had an attitude problem these past two days. I think with moving everything out of my room and all its a big change for him. Hopefull today when we move them and get them settled back in their cage they will calm down after a few days. Thanks for your concern thou!

Bringing another male in my house had turned Zair into an insanely territorial iguana. Especially to Icecube whom he tried even harder to mate with causing me to seperate them for the injuries it caused her...and give her a new home. They got along famously until then.

The move went fairly well. Unpacking is NO fun! But I made sure during the move that Zilla did not see either of the other larger males. He is now in our bed room, a long with Magellan (our smallest male) but they cant see eachother either. None of the males can see eachother unless they are to be let out of the cage. They all seemed to handle the move well, except Reptar. She is very stressed. Im trying to keep the stress level down to a minimum. I am keeping a close eye on her thou. Thanks for the inputs!

Poor long-frog... . I'm sure she'll be fine in no time. The routine you set and things getting to normal will help. Glad the move went so well.
