so i have been handling Jolee for over 7 months now and am still afraid to let him totaly free roam in my room, am i being over protective? Right now i let him play on my window seat on a fun jungle gym thingy that i got from the garden section at home depot.... and i still am very reluctant to let him sit on my shoulder without his rear lead.... and comments or advice?

I don't think you can be too overprotective when it comes to your animals. There may be hidden dangers you don't know about and will only find when your ig gets injured. Better safe than sorry. It took us a very long time (and a lot of growth spurts) for Rex to become a free-roamer. He was probably 3yo before he was totally on his own, but he also doesn't venture too far from his basking spot.

Naw, you aren't being over protective. Jolee is still a baby and they can get into TOO much trouble....especially the lost kind. You are just keeping him safe.

I agree, If you feel uneasy about it,...trust your feeling! Little igs are easily lost!
The lead makes it easier to keep track of him. And you don't have to chase him through the house if he gets wild.
