my ig is always running and seems to be afraid i thought it was because he is new but its been a while now and hes the same. I want to be able to pick it up but it gets scared he whips with his tail or he will bite what sould i do

Ummmm how long is "a while"? How big or old is he? It can take up to a year with some of them just to let you touch them. Are you letting him roam free or is he caged. No matter whether he tail whips, bites, or whatever you have to pick him up. Otherwise you are showing him what he needs to do to make you leave him alone.

Yep, it takes "forever" to convince these guys that you aren't gonna eat them. Be patient and gentle. We may have some better suggestions after you answer Merlin's questions.

After an ig realizes that you don't mean to have lunch as you walk up many start to think they are equals then start to think they are dominant.
It takes patients and just some getting used to. With a male even 9 years later I am still working daily on keeping him social. Don’t expect to have an iguana act like a lap dog.

i will let it roam my room when im out but at night hes in a tank i am building him a big cage though. iv had it like two weeks thats probly why. thanks for the advice
