Puppy and I have gotten to the point where he will sit on me without me having to hold him and of course he'll climb up to my shoulder but now he's licking my hair a LOT, I started clipping my hair up but he just gets closer to lick it. I'm afraid he's gonna end up with a hair ball or something!!!! Is this normal iggy behavior when you have long hair?

Yup, it happens sometimes. He probably just likes the smell of some product you're using on your hair. I have read that igs are especially fond of hair products that smell like coconut. ;D

Hair can cause serious problems for igs. They can get tangeled around intestines and such just as with people and dogs/cats.
LOL...Iguana King pretty well sums it up...anything that smells like fruit...especially mangoes and melons...your hair smells like a dessert bar... ;D

I am a walking raspberrie. I have raspberrie shampoo's body washes and body sprays. I'm gonna be one walkin fruit when he gets to the point of going near my hair. Already my bf's cat tries to eat my hair.. The cat likes fruity stuff. So do I.

Thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. Since Igs tend to tongue flick everything and the tongue is sticky if they get your hair then into the mouth it goes. I have exceedingly long hair and don't use fruity shampoo but Zok still tries to get it. I don't know that changing shampoos would really make any difference.

I'll just have to make sure he doesn't get so close to my hair and keep it when I'm handling him.

LOL My calico Karma does it, my mom's cat pablo does this. Then when I'm at my bf's house his russian grey licks my hair like it's dinner. Soon Eki will meet the kitties at my bf's house where he is living. So far he's met the cats and sorta just ignores them while chilling in my hand =P

My iguana likes to sit on my shoulders and lick my earlobe. It's kinda freaky because I keep thinking he's going to take a bite! lol!

OOOOHHH i know! An officer of mine used to rescue Igs and her and her husband had an Ig for 10 years when during a normal of sitting on his shoulders he reached over and took a bite, ripped her husbands cheek wide open. SO Puppy doesn't come close to my face and I'm very leary to even let him close to my neck, which he always tries to get next too but even on the edge of my shoulder he'll turn his head close enough to try and lick my hair.

My little guy used to do that all the time, but he seems to have grown out of it. He used to actually pull it out and eat it, but now he occassionlly licks it. He does sometimes pull bits out of the carpet too I always stop him if hes doing anything like that.

My hair must be some sort of fetish for Spyro ;D She combs it with her nails, try to eat it sometimes and constantly want to climb on.

He'll do it for an hour if I let him, which I usually do. I love spending time with him. So far, in the 2 weeks I've had Camille, Eli hasn't been neglected any attention. He knows I may pay attention to Camille during the day, but at night, it's Eli that gets to sleep against me.
