If he/she is 1 year old, its probably not because of breeding season yet. But...igs' appetites naturally decrease anyway during the colder months.

Well, he has the femoral pores like little waxy corks, and he has ejected two semenal plugs.....and a whole lot a headbobbing (though its mostly at the mirror). Luckely he has not bitten me....yet.

Way too young for Breeding Season, more like 2-3 years old.
I agree with Sean, probably winter blahs.

Well, I don't know... IguanaKing and Dominick are very knowledgeable and I don't like to question what they posted to you, but Willie went into season at about 1 1/2 years. (16 to 18 months) Nobody thought I could be correct at first, but soon it was clear. I saw Will's hemipenes when he would ejaculate in the tub. Then he began to ejaculate everyday in the same place. Because he was young and going into 'puberty' early, it only lasted for a few months. Maybe 3. His appetite increased rapidly when I stopped finding his daily ejaculate. Will's femoral pores were greatly enlarged also and he never became mean this time around.

Raz has the hempenile bulge, and the femoral pores....some orange too on the hands and feet. Though he has only had a few seminal plugs......not every day.....but still.......
I'll have to keep a close eye on him

X, Razzy's also going through de-worming, so that may be a contributing factor to the drop in appetite.
While de-worming is a GOOD thing, it's also physically stressful. Make sure he stays hydrated... help him to drink if need be... and I think that will help flush any toxins caused by dying worms.

Oh...from everything you describe, I don't doubt that Raz has reached sexual maturity. I'm just saying that maybe he might be a little older than you think he is. 18 months to two years doesn't seem to be all that uncommon.

Will someone please tell me what seminal plugs are. They sound like a solid form of semen. What do they look like?.

Will someone please tell me what seminal plugs are. They sound like a solid form of semen. What do they look like?. They are whitish gummy things, and exactly what you said....solidified semen that builds up in the cloaca..................rather gross if you ask me

www.anapsid.org/seminalplugs.htmlthis is a link to the write up and photograph of the nasty little things on Melissa Kaplan's site. Since Narcy has never 'flashed' me (can't say that i'm sorry), this was the definitive in finally knowing he was male.

Nasty is right, Diane! Ugh! I never saw any of those, thank goodness, but I didn't see anything H shaped either. Wonder how an ig is supposed to be able to do that

Must be the lighting ...I'm sorry, but the seminal plugs on Melissa's site look just plain nasty. If Hercules deposited something that looked like those, I'd be busy digging his grave...a seminal plug should NEVER LOOK LIKE THOSE. A seminal plug should be MUCH LIGHTER in color and resemble the color of a raw-hyde toy for your dog, and, to the touch (I know...YUCK ;D ), it'll feel about the same, kinda hard and rubbery. Its been a while though since I have seen seminal plugs...I just make sure to wear an old t-shirt when I wake Hercules up in the morning...during breeding season he usually leaves a little "surprise" on my morning t-shirt (definitely NOT solidified...kinda gooey actually...YUCK )
