fort bragg fair has iguanas as prizes at one of the booths. tiny tiny babies, the one i saw couldn't do anything except breath shallow. couldn't open it's eyes or lift it's head or anything. so sad that ppl would do something like that to animals.

In many states it is becoming illegal to give away live animals as prizes...except for goldfish. Some are just illegal in certain municipalities. Iowa has just passed a bill into law that bans this practice. Check with your state and city law offices and see if it's illegal in your area. If you would like to get involved and help in your state you can join the Carnival Iguanas group at groups.yahoo.com/group/CarnivalIguana/.

The only place any pet should be is either in a rescue center or a pet store (a good pet store, not one that is full of people who know nothing and only want your money)
RAR....thats sick....I mean, isn't that considered animal cruelty?

Not to mention that some igs do carry salmonella. This is a good way to bring this to the city officials attention who may ban this practice in at least their municipality. Do they really want to be responsible for allowing a carnival to expose the public who have voted for them to the possibility of this potentially fatal bacteria? This can kill people who have weakened immune systems and an article in the editorial section may carry more weight than you think... (BTW...it's not just igs that have been given as prizes, but bunnies, chicks, hamsters, gerbils and other animals as well).
