hey this is weird but i think i got an laidback iguana. the reason i say that is i have never seen her whip her tail at me. she has tried to bite me on occaison but only once in a blue moon. is their something i can do to get her to learn how to use her tail? or is it something that comes natural to them?

Why would you WANT her to use her tail!?! Be blessed she doesn't! If she feels threatened enough she will use it, but there are plenty of igs that don't use their tails. Zair hasn't used his in quite a few years! He's postured a few times, but the tail has never gone farther than standing "at arms".
You have an ig I'm sure several people on this board even...would wish they could say that...;-) (Frankie the ig being one!)

LOL! I would love it if Frankie forgot he had a tail. I am beaten daily with it to ensure that I know my proper human place as a food bringer. Although we have come to a compromise about the broom. When I nudge him with it, he goes the way I nudge now. Used to he would just tail whip that too!

yeah i iam thankful but she sure does likes to bite. but she hasnt bitten me siince she was really sick. now my dad on the other hand gets bit by her all the time. iam thankful my ig is laidback. but for some reason also i just found out shes not fond of a bath. she hates it a first but then gets use to the fact that she in the water and makes the best of it. my dad and ex girlfriend got to see dixie swim for the first time. and they laughed cause it was so amazing watching her swim, just like an alligator my dad says.

Zair used to hate the bath, too. Now he will climb in himself...or did when the tub worked...and wait for me to fill it up for him...;-)

Herc used to do that too, when he used to be able to free-roam. I can't let him do that anymore because of the cat I inherited from my brother. I give them supervised play-time on occasion, but each time its only a few seconds before Herc is on the war-path and trying to kill the cat. Oh well...kids.

;D My moms dog is terrified of our lizards, the last time she came to visit Iggy was out walking around and the dog went to walk through the hallway well she didnt notice Iggy till he whipped at her, must of scared her because when she sees any of our Lizards she runs the other way. ;D
