How about using a paper plate. It could be that he just prefers something he doesn't have to lean into to eat. Being young yet he still depends on his parietal eye to "watch the skies for predators" and if he has to lean into a dish his third eye may miss the "shadow from a bird of prey". You have to think on their level...;-)

Yup, I always use plates myself. Plates are more comfortable for them to eat from (no edge of a bowl jabbing them in the ribs while they're trying to eat), and they can also see everything around them while eating. I think purposely sticking their heads into something that blocks their vision is a thing iguanas would have a natural aversion to.

I agree with the above, only mine little one is using a small reptile dish that barely has an edge on the inside of the dish. She lay's across it when feeding alot of the time and makes one heck of a mess, so i tried to put it in a little deeper dish and for 2 day's she didn't touch it. Brought back her other dish and she went to town. This is a pictur of her dish.. It is no bigger than 5"s long and at the widest part 3 1/2".
I beleive in that picture, it was Collards, Mustards &, Turnip Greens. green beans, Snow peas, squash, green peppers, mango and persian pears. Make myself a salad like that once in a while but I get to have the carrots and cheese with mine...:0)
