We have our daylilies blooming a bit early this year. They don't usually bloom until near the end of June...but Zair loves them! Daylilies are a great treat for those that do not know. The flower: Zair tearin' it up!

It helps to make a aesthetically pleasing salad, as well...

It's now just "ig"...no plural anymore. Taji has not been found and he escaped last Sunday. Zair is my original and now to remain my only. Taji really created some waves adding his testosterone to Zair's. Once the human kids move out I will be able to use one of the rooms for more rescues...but until then...you'll have to hold the record for most igs owned on this forum. I know of one other with 20 plus igs she has made a permanent sanctuary for...but only one lives in the house if I'm not mistaken. As for the daylilies around here...they grow wild in the ditches here in NW TN. Many are near fields of corn and such where fertilizers and pesticides are used...but these happen to be in my front yard...

Veronica,
Lyn is right, that salad looks good enough for a human to eat! Heck, I've seen *less* appetizing salads in upscale salad bars! I have a similar "problem", and have taken to labeling the salads I pre-mix so the mother-in-law doesn't end up taking ig food to work with her! And why is it some people insist that presentation doesn't mean anything? Mary will saunter down to a bowl of boring ol' greens... but she *charges* to a bowl that has lots of different colors in it.

Lol...same with "Z". The more color the more interested he is.

Hey who says that ig salads don't work as human salads. I use the same shredded veggies in my salad as I do in Bob's. I just add iceberg(save some of the more expensive greens for him), more carrot, dressing, and cheese to mine. I have put the fork in the wrong dish a few times.
Day lillies have a nice sweet snap to them. I had a large container of them growing last summer(no garden only a parking lot) and would eat one or two by the time that I got them to Bob's dish.
In a pinch you can also put the leaves in for some greens.

You know what's so funny about a family salad and a Z salad? I spend WAY more time on his than ours. I am going to start making some for both of us from the same stock. Almost half of Z's goes bad anyway from the stuff left over yet in the bunches when I make his salad for a four day run. Hubby should really like that! He likes change...

So yes they are tasty but you know what else you can do with them? Make your ig look like a clown.

I think photobucket when down for a little while. Or I was hitting the limit on my album size. Which ever the pic is showing back up on my machine.
