f you went into your local herp store and you saw a sign that read "Iguana Salad Bar" would this get you wondering? Well, what if that store offered to make an iguana salad for you, with all the greens veggies and fruits that you chosse and put calcium on it if you wanted, would you think about doing it? What if they made it right in front of you with gloves and sanatized utensils and put the salad in a fresh gladware container thing? How many of you think you would use this service one a week? What about once a month? Lemme know, I am thinking of maybe doing this at my work. Just wanna know if there might even be an interest in it. Thanks guys.

Don't take your Iguana to work, come by the store, if a store in your area did this, and get him one in the morning before you go to work. That way YOU don't have to make a salad for him in the morning. Or get him a salad on the weekend so you don't have to do it. It would be like subway for Iguana with no meat or bread.

Ha! I love it! Fast food for Ig's!
YES! I would do it, if the price was right. I would actually probably just buy 3 or 4 days worth at a time if the price was right - would save my back from having to stand at the sink for 1 1/2 hours twice weekly to wash, dry & cut everything up!
I think it's a great idea. There would probably have to be a lot of Ig (or other lizard) owners in your area though, to make it worthwile & profitable?
Interesting and ingenious idea!

Sounds like a good idea. Just I'm a freak about sanitation. I'd want to know how fresh they were and make sure they are safe. But it's salad not much can go wrong you say. Well here's a tidbit. If washed in a big sink, where the septic back flowed one night and not washed int he morning before washing greens in it. You got some nasty salad greens then. It's happened (I know a few stories hehe). I'm afreak about sanitary and safe cooking/etc. involved with food. =P

i think its a great idea, i have often wondered if there was a service like that, because it would be nice if someone would give larry every everything he needs so i know for sure he got all his nutrients that he needed. but then again, i think i would have to see the place that makes the salad. when it comes to larry, i am extremely cautious and sanitary. i would have to meet the person making the salad as well so i know that he knows what hes talking about, to make sure he doesnt throw together a bunch of unimportant food.

I think it's a great idea, but sanitation is a biggy for me, too. Egads.. a stainless steel sink that looks clean, but isn't. There might be too much trust involved for me. What a shame, because it is a wonderful idea otherwise

All the sanitation and potential customer issues aside, you also have to worry about proper licenses. Even to resell veggies, you have to have a permit from the USDA... and if you want to cut them up, well, that's processing which requires a different permit. The permit cost is based on how much you plan to sell. Plus if you live somewhere that good quality greens are hard to come by, you'll be spending a fortune getting them to you in the first place. I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I've done A LOT of research because I had considered starting an on line ig-veggie store. Maybe someday!
