I know that some people give their igs small portions of bread but isn't i bad for them seeing as it contains eggs, which is a animal protein ? should i continue to allow my iggs this treat that they love?

From what I understand, it's okay to give them a treat they really like, as long as it's not very often. I give my 2 male Iguanas 1/2 slice of wheat bread (torn in pieces & dipped in water), about twice a month. Considering the little amount they get compared to their overall diet, it shouldn't have any sort of effect on their overall health - however anything is possible. I look at it this way. If it's okay for me to have a small bag of chips, or a candy bar from time to time, without it killing ME, then it's okay for my Igs to have the treat they love from time to time too. My vet assured me it was okay, as long as it wasn't a daily or even weekly event. This is kind of a personal decision, but that's my opinion anyway Hope this helps! ~Nan

Whole wheat bread dipped in water and pedialyte is one of the foods Will will eat. But, nanshe, I feel the same way you do. A little bit infrequently is ok.

Yup, just like Audrey and her fondness for blueberry muffins.

Zok gets the occassional bite of bread but not on a regular basis. I have also found that if she gets much bread the next day she is a bit hesitant to eat her regular food. I guess she thinks I will fel sorry for her and give her more bread! NOT!
