Will is still getting his tummy full mostly from slurries. I leave tempting solid food out for him, but end up throwing it out. His preferred slurry is vanilla Ensure, some greens, banana (his potassium count was low in his most recent blood panel, so his doc recommend bananas), water, pedialyte. I've decided to give him liquid calcium daily as well. I would like some more nutritious slurries, though. Give him some variety, too. I'd welcome some more recipes if anyone has some ideas! Thanks. (ps I've seen MKs recipes)

Prism, thank you SO MUCH! The Oxbow product looks good to me, too. I'll call his vet tomorrow.
The iguana den slurry looks like an excellent procedure back to health. Both brought me to tears though as I read about the risks, underlying causes, etc. Will's vet didn't seem concerned, so I wasn't. More frustrated than concerned.
Willie has had health issues for too long now! I think I'll begin a thread under illness about anorexia. Thank you very much for posting both sites and I'll take it from here. Any more info from you and others will be so welcome

Have you thought about reading about kidney disease/failure? I would hate to think this might be an issue, but Will's symptoms are so similar.

The thought scares me to death. I'll talk to his vet about it today. But, no I hadn't associated what Wills' doing with kidney disease. I'll call his vet NOW!

Well, so far.so good. If Will had kidney disease his Bun, Phosphorus and Uric acid would be highly elevated. His Bun and Uric acid are low and his phos. is in the normal range. Thank you, God. His vet gave me a lot of time on the phone instantly. He doesn't see any evidence of kidney disease. He suggested that I try to retrain him to eat solids on his own. Let him get a little hungry. He thinks I may have trained him to fill his tummy with slurries. I'll put this in the Anorexia thread. Thank you so much, prism, for raising my awareness on this.

Sounds like worth a try. Always best to try. Hope he can take some solids.

I rea;ized after seeing the blood panel readings that it was not likely to be kidney disease. I am SO glad the vet had such good things to say to put your mind at ease.

Nancy, Tell Will I said to stop worrying his momma so much and eat his food like a good little iguana!!
In the event that he still refuses.... Here's a thought.... I have fed all sorts of veggies and greens made into a slurry. I ran normal food thru the processor, but there were still some chunks that were too big to suck up into a dropper. Sooooo....I used a baby medicine dropper with the squeezy thing, but I cut the end off to make the hole slightly larger so that it would suck up the tiny bits of food. Don't know if that will be helpful to you, but it worked great for my situation.

Hi Tesa, Thanks for your input. I'm going to give Will your message!!!! I put some yogurt, grapes and blueberries down about 5:30 last night. He took a few licks of yogurt, but that's all. I remember when you suggested the baby dropper before and I got one. For some reason, I didn't think of cutting off the end a little. Duh! Thanks, Tesa! ps He's looking hungry!!!
