I know I have not been here for a while and I am sorry. The slinkie man is ready to find a new home now. He is a healthy happy male ig. I am so happy his health is back. His previous owners took an interest in getting him back, but at the last minute decided not too. They went to great lengths to do research and everything. I was pretty bummed. Hopefully I will be able to find him a permanent home soon. If anyone is interested in helping find him a home give me a yell. I could use all the help I can get.

Desiree, I wish that I could help you with him he is just beautiful. and he really looks healthy. Surely it won't be too long before he has a new home.
Have you posted him on the adoption board at GIS?
I know that they would be happy to help you in any way that they can.
Good luck and let us know how things go for you and the slinkie Man.
Debbie Iggy bam-Bam and Miss Zak.

The Slinkie man is living with me right now. I got him from one of our clients. They really didn't know how to take care of him. He was in pretty bad shape. After I had talked to his previous owner the first time they brought him right to the hospital I work at that night. That was about 3 months ago if at that. iI had kept in contact with them and at one point they wanted him back. Did a lot to get him back to but the day they were to get him I had an emergency. (I had to euthanize one of my dogs) I couldn't bring him back to work. To my surprise they decided that it would be a better idea if I found him a home where someone could spend more time with him and that is what I am doing now. It is very difficult in this area to find iguana owners. Every one of the pet stores sell them around here and I am finding more and more that need a good home. I would love to keep him but I have my share of animals here already. I tried GIS once before and all the other online rescues when I helped one of the local humane societies but got no reply. I have posted him in the classified ads at www.petfinder.com. I am also going to make flyers for those petstores. For anyone to get him though they are going to have to deal with me asking a ton of questions and even being able to visit their house.

Thanks Merlin. It was a very hard decision, but one I had to make. He had cancer, and we could have prolonged his life but I didn't think it was fair to him. We would have had to aputated his front leg. That would have only kept him alive to about Sept. I couldn't put him through that when he was almost 150lbs. It wouldn't have been a life for him. He was a great dog. I will miss him dearly. my gentle giant!

OK, after searching Petfinder for about an hour and not finding any Mr. Slinky Iguana, I'll ask a different way:
Desiree- What City and State do you live in? ;D

Hey sorry Dom. I live in a very very small town called Black Brook in Northern Ny. We don't even have a post office. LOL I am about 30 miles south west of Plattsburgh,NY. About 6 hrs from NJ. I checked petfinders last night and noticed they didn't post it. The site stated that they review all the classifieds, so maybe they just didn't get to it yet.

As some may know, I just lost my ig last night. I had rescued a couple days ago, but was too late, as he was too far gone. I would love nothing more than to rescue him, but living in minnesota, it seems a little bit too far away. Good luck in finding a new home!
