Here's the MK Salad. www.anapsid.org/iguana/igdiet.htmlYoda loves this combo of veggies with his greens more than anyother. Its also supposably the best so that works out well! Greens - Collards, Endive,Baby Arugula Blend, and Watercress (the store was rather picked and or they were rotten this time so i doubt these greens will get me more than 5days, they already dont look that great so once i get the milky smell i chuck them out.) Veggies - (Left to Right) Parsnips, Green Beans, Butternut Squash (Green Beans are chopped and the others are Grated). This is tommorow's dish. It needs to be "lightly" dusted with Alfalfa first i stress lightly as Yoda has seem to begin to less deisre the tast now.. Its like Oregno inside these just tear and sprinkle! I also use Repcal Clacium NO Vit. D3, and Herpvite. Caution as over supplementation causes severe and irreversible Kidney damage. I take a seperate tupperware container put the greens in it and "LIGHTLY sprinkle" calcium and vitamins then put the top on and shake. Works well for me. Hope this helps someone and maybe a Mod could Sticky this.

That looks like a great setup for feeding your IG. I am not organized enough to have everything cut up beforehand, I just cut things up for each day. I should start to prepare a weeks worth at a time though..... looks like your ig gets good eats!

Looks awesome! one question though. Where do U find the alfalfa tea is that something that can be picked up in the healthfood section at wally world or do i need to go to like GNC or something. I have also wondered if It would be possible to pick up a small bag of rabbit alfalfa pellets and blend them in a food processor and sprinkle that on the mix

Rabbit Alfalfa may have many other things in it. There not reugulated so they could have any ingredients. GNC is your best bet. I got mine at a local herb specific store. Its pure alfalfa leaf.

That is good to know. The only alfalfa I can get around here is the alfalfa sprouts and Moe doesnt like to eat them much. I'll have to look out for that tea.

Rabbit pellets are fine to use and many of us have used them for years. Its things like guinea pig and hamster pellets that have the other stuff in. Quality rabbit pellets have no animal protein. In fact for those who show rabbits, using animal protein in the food is an instant disqualification.

Horse pellets are excellent sources of alfafa too. You can get them at your local livestock feed store.

Yeah i used to work at a feed store. As far as having other things in them all you have to do is read the label it has all the ingredients listed. If it has more than just alfalfa just move on to the next product. I was just thinking the pellets would be more cost effective then the tea and if they wont eat the pellets, just put them in a food processor grind them to a fine powder and sprinkle over the food just like the tea.

We use the rabbit pellets as a source of alfalfa as well. Very cost effective. And the brand I found has nothing but alfalfa in it. We just mix it into the salad in pellet form and they break down as they absorb some of the excess moisture from the veggies. Without them the problem is the salad is too wet and starts to ball up after a few days.

Id reccomend giving the tea bags a try. Just tear and pour and its more than enough for 1 serving. Like i said its like oregno except ground alfalfa leaves. And they cost me $3.50 for 24 packs or 24 dinner plates of food.

Yeah i am gonna try to find them but the thing is you can find 25 lb bags of rbbit pellets for about 5 dollars and 25 lbs will last forever if kept in a cool dry place. and will do much more than 24 dinners more like well over a hundred

I'm with the pellets! I have to be money conscious... ;D. I have a coffee grinder I used originally for grinding beans for the uromastyx I had up for adoption. I also use it for grinding the rabbit pellets and B12 tablets. This thing is only about $15 and well worth it's weight in gold.

And if you take the rabbit pellets, powder them and mix it with some sweet fruit like papaya or mango they accept them a lot better. When I tried just sprinkling them on the food Zok gave me such a dirty look and walked away!
