Hey guys! So I am trying to find out if you can suggest some additional foods for Reaper. I try to switch her food weekly but I think there are some items I can give her that I am not giving her. Here is a list of the items I use for her food (note: I pick from this list when I make her food so every week its different)
GREENS
Collards Mustard Turnip Cilantro Watercress Endive Arugula Escarole
I've searched for Dandelion Greens and can't find them anyhere.
VEGGIES
Acorn Squash Butternut Squash Spaghetti Squash Kabocha Squash Chayote Squash Snow Peas String Beans Red/Yellow Bell Peppers
FRUIT
Mango Papaya Banana - occasionally Raspberries Watermelon - occasionally
I use alfalfa powder (got 300 capsules for $10 bucks!) daily.

That is a pretty entracit list. I have hard time finding most of that stuff up here where i am. You could maybe try some Jalopeno peppers or another kind of pepper for your iggy. They really like sliced fresh ones. Also most of what i have seen are the dandelion greens are going to come from out back in the field. They are hard to come by in the produce section of the grocery store.

You have an excellent selection...:-)
Another good choice and one I use as a staple item is parsnips. If you use jalepeno peppers - remove the seeds and pulp. Zair loves them. I use wild dandelion, too. When I go to Nashville (2 hrs away) I sometimes stop in the International Market which has some of the weirder, but good things...and sometimes they carry dandelion greens.
How about some flowers for something a little different? As long as you don't use fertilizers you can use all kinds of flowers: rose petals carnations daylily nasturtium hibiscus (flowers and leaves) hens and chicks astilbe dahlia geranium impatiens kudzu (we have kudzu monsters here in the south!)pansiiies petunia phlox spiderwort sweet william violets (not African violets)
These are just some of the more common ones. There are plenty more, but this is a pretty good list. A google search will get you a few more...:-)

P.S. Pure alfalfa rabbit pellets - 3lb bag - less than $5. I just grind it up in the $15 coffee grinder I bought from Wal-Mart that I've written "For Animal Stuff Only". I also grind up the calcium and other supplements in it...:-D

Thanks. I'm going to check Walmart because when I went to the petstore they alfalfa had other ingredients and I wasn't sure if it was worth purchasing so I got the capsules. What kind of supplements to you add? I have been giving Reaper calcuim once a week.

Thats a really good list. I like to add in flowers too. I have a really huge garden in the front and back that is fullllll of petunias that I like to put in the dish also. You can just get some at the flower store and plant it in your backyard! The good part is that they flower grows back in a week after you pickem!

What kind of supplements to you add? I have been giving Reaper calcuim once a week. I got my rabbit pellets at Tractor Supply. As for other supplements...I really don't give many. Calcium once in a blue moon. I do give B12 much more regularly since it's so important and a vegan diet doesn't carry it. It's important for red blood cell regeneration, muscle growth and so much more. I also add a probiotic about once a week...most often just a couple times a month.
