WOOT! 'Tis the season and I've never met an ig yet that didn't like fresh pumpkin!! The skin is extra tough...so for babies you may want to cut the flesh from it...or shave it extra small.
It's supposed to act as an aid in constipated igs...but none of the ones I've fed it to have ever pooped more than usual eating this stuff. However! Canned pumpkin IS a great "releaser".

I was just making pumpkin pie a few days ago and I gave Bowser some of the pumpkin and he loved it.

Zok loves the stuff! And like you V, I've never noticed any diference. And after halloween is over you can get them really cheap!

Are you supposed to give iguanas the guts or the skin?

Remove the stringy stuff and the seeds...the skin I mentioned in the first post...:-) For babies remove the skin, for 6 months and over...shred it very thin.

ok thanks... just wanted to confirm- i thought pumpkin skin was too tough but I guess it's no different than squash in hardness. I bet Dmitra will love it

It's best to use a cheese grater on ALL that stuff...but more so for the pumpkin. The skin of a pumpkin is VERY hard which makes it hard to digest. The smaller you can grate it the better it is for digestion and better nutrient dispersion.
The skin of mango and papayas are not ok to feed...so it's good you don't...:-)
