Oops...sorry about that Dom. What I meant was they hadn't tested it for UV-A on the russiantortoise.com web-site. That was why there was no data in the chart Jubjub linked. Thanks for the info, now I don't have to wait for BobMac to get back to me. I guess my deduction was correct. ;D

Well...BobMac got back to me with an e-mail and gave some more information.
Here it is:
Please forward to your site.
The Mega Ray is the best lamp on the market to duplicate the sun. The average UVB output is 250uW/cm2 at 12” and the average UVA is 900uW/cm2 at 12”. Truly no other lamp is in the same class as this. It should be noted that the natural sun will emit up to 4000uW/cm2 of UVA but few creatures will bask at noon when the highest amount of UVR is directed to the surface of the earth.
We just finished a decay study of our lamps. Up until now I have told people that our lamps will produce good UVR for At least a year. After 290 continuous days of burn (6,960 hours, the equivalent of almost two years) our lamps had an average of a 30% decay rate for UVB and a 20% decay rate for UVA.
Regards,
Bob MacCargar
