What brands or what bulbs do you reccomend for UVB source i went to the store to pick up supplies... The terarrium looks a lot bigger than 40gal... i still dont know...
I didnt get all the lights because i couldent find any that said UVB on it... the only 1 i found was florecent and it was like 6% UVB which didnt sound right...
So im in a jam here i need to know what to get lol?

The best bulb on the market is the Mega Ray EB hands down. When you do a cost breakdown of the different brands you will be looking and and possibly purchasing...even though the EB seems like a costlier bulb - it really breaks even over the course of a year...and you have a better UVB source. I can list the breakdown if you like.

Thats a nice one for sure!
But I'm not going to but anyhting off the internet...
and the real problem is that at the pet stores near me all i can find there that says anything about UVB on it is:
Exo-Terra Repti Glo 5.0 Tropical Terrarium Lamp.
It says UVB on the box... But i dont think thats the right kind of bulb or whatever. Anyone know what would i should get, say from PetCo or Petsmart? (closest to my house, the place im getting the iguana is far away and i think they have the same as petsmat and petco do...)
driving me nuts... i need to test the temps but cant do it untill i get all the lights...
need help lol...

Since the fl. tubes do not produce enough heat to change the temps but by maybe...maybe...1 degree...you can still test the temps and be sure they will be the same with a tube. Now...if you go with the NEXT best bulb on the market...that you can purchase from a store, that is...the T Rex 100 watt flood active UV heat bulb and is the EXACT same bulb as the Mega Ray SB. Just packaged by T-Rex. This is a heat/UVB combo. As for the Exo-Terra Repti Glo 5.0 Tropical Terrarium Lamp...the 5.0 IS the amount of UVB...and you will need to tubes for them to be any good. There are also the Desert Sun 7.0 series I believe those stores carry. ESU makes them. These are an O.K. brand, too...but again...as with all fl. tubes...you need two for proper UVB emissions. Save yourself from buying two shop hoods for these lamps. You will ultimately need the 4' length anyway...so you may as well start out that way...

Wouldn't that be nice...but no. It really isn't double the amount like they want you to believe. They do produce more, but not double. Here's a graph that shows you the difference between some of the tubes we use. Look specifically at the ZooMeds Reptisun 5.0 and 10.0 readings on the graphs. You will notice a difference in the spikes...but it's not enough to be double and certainly should not be used in a single tube setting. www.uvguide.co.uk/fluorescenttuberesults.htmIguanas are high level UVB users, so offering something more than just "minimum" is in the best interest of good health for any ig...:-)

but is the t-rex bulb the only daytime bulb i will need?
And what do you reccomend for night time heat?

As long as you can get the recommended temps from the UV/heat combo within the recommended distance of the bulb...about 12"-18" away...then it should be the only daytime bulb you need. As long as your temps don't go below 70 at night...you need no supplemental heat. If you allow you house to go down into the 60s...then you may want to use a lightless heat source such as a CHE. I believe T-Rex also makes a lightless heat source. It has a little screen over the heating element. Much safer than the CHE.

Ok, i have the general heat gradient now, i think,
I tested it with a some basking light i wont use... lol
anyway,
90s in hot end low 80s in cooler end with water dish large enogh for the iguana to fit in.
i have a basking spot more than 12in away from light and it reaches (Tested with two thermoters) 1: 95 - 97 2: over 105... i dont think the second thermometer works right... and its black so i think that would mess it up being directly in the light...
So what is the Max temp. for basking?
