my ig is not that big yet almost a foot and a half with his tail. his right eye looks like it is always tearing like hes crying but its only the right eye. is that normal? he does not seem to eat that much only will really eat green beans mustard, collard, and dandilion greens. maybe a good half to 3/4 cup a day and it takes like three feeding sessions is that ok? :'

If his eye is weeping, then there may be a problem. It could be that he scratched his eye on something, or something got in it. It wouldn't hurt to have a herp vet look at it. Find a qualified herp vet through one of these aids: www.herpvetconnection.comwww.anapsid.org/vets/index.htmlwww.arav.org/USMembers.htmAs for how much your ig is eating...The amount sounds good. Igs are as individual in the amounts they eat to stay healthy as anything else. As long as it's eating quality food it will be fine. You have a good greens selection, but try adding a couple more items. Summer squash grated in the salad will be appealing AND nutritious. The squashes I use most are acorn squash, spaghetti squash and when in season, pumpkin. You can also add red or yellow bellpepper. These add color to the salad which igs are attracted to. It may even help to increase the amount it takes in.

Whatever the office visit charge is and any meds you might need. Vets in different areas charge different rates. You will need to call and find out.

You should probably have his eye looked at by a qualified vet, especially since it doesn't seem to be getting any better - best to be safe rather than sorry.
If it's about the money, talk to the vet first, ask if they'll accept payments. I have found a few very qualified vets around here (off the links provided by another poster above) who will take payments.
Please keep us posted!

I had to bring my ig to the vet once, I live in Mass and the office visit costs $35 and an x-ray is $80. Hope this helps a little.
