The Slinkie man is ready to find a new home, so I decided to post him in the local newspaper. I started getting calls the first morning it was posted which was yesterday. Of course I am not going to just give him to anyone, I am going to drill the people who are inquiring. Well here is my frustration. People see the word free and have no clue what they are really getting. I would start off by asking if they ever owned an iguana before. Then the basic questions what happened to the last one, feeding, housing, extra. I was very polite and in some cases would just explain what was required for him. In all though, it was clear to me that none of them really wanted all the responsability of owning one. A bunch of them said they were going to come to my house to see him. I waited all day and not one of them showed. UGH I have had at least 10 people call me so far. Very Frustrated. @#*^!

ugh.....sorry Desiree. So few people take animals as a serious commitment. Many can't even manage to take care of pets that are much less complicated than iguanas. It's gonna be a hard sell. Keep your chin up. You are doing a great thing in trying to solidify his future.
