Chance lives in a 260 gallon reptarium . . . Made of plastic and mesh. He is almost 2 feet long. His enclosure is 6 feet high, much taller than myself. At what point would 260 gallons be too small??? It is mostly tall than wide. He is growing every day. How much longer can he stay in 260 gallons comfotably??

The height is fine. How wide and deep is it?

I would call it as time to expand about now, that floor area is tiny.
260 gal =34.75 cubic feet. A cage of 34.75 cubic feet which is 6 feet tall has a cross sectional area of 5.8 feet. A square of area 5.8 feet has side lenghts of 2 feet 5 inches, which is close to what I have seen reptraiums as.
I find it easiest to speak of ig cages by dimensions (lengths). When I say Bob's house is 1440 gallons you have no concept of how large that is but when I say 4x8x6 you can see it readilly.

The reptarium is (i have no math abilities) uhmm i'd say 30 something inches across. The height is fine. It's the across space I am worried about. I looked through search engines I was thinking of buying a dog kennel for him to set up indoors. But I can not find one taller than 48 inches. Ideal would be 6 or 7 feet all around. height, width, deep. I am tired of the reptarium, but dog cages or kennels do not expand past 48 inches high i noticed. a ferret enclosure or cat enclosure is too small . . . . . items online sold as "reptile" cages i noticed (e.g cages by design) are a grand easy. I work in a pet and garden store, so I make a pet store girl's salary. Any suggestions??

Yes it sounds like time to upgrade!
That is why most ig keepers elect to build their own cages. Mine is fully enclosed and made of wood with plexiglass door and ran me about 300 to build not counting light and heat. You could also do something like Mark did here
Very inexpensive yet very functional.

Oh goodness, I have never built anything in my life I hadn't planned on owning another iguana after Lewis, so I didn't think of putting money aside or learn how to build anything. Chance was a last minute - "oh my god this iguana is in trouble - must take care of" With Lewis I did away with the thought of a cage and let him free roam, and he never returned. I don't plan on having that happen again . . . . . . . . Mark, do you market your iguana homes?? Or was your iguana home made just for your iguanas?? If you do market, do you have a web page?? Thanks to everyone who placed any input :-)

Mark can make you a great cage, instant message him and or email him. he will give you a list of options. They are not too expensive. He has pictures of his cage, which is the type he makes. He can also make you a smaller one which is a little cheaper.
