When I first got Drako 3 months ago, his tail was all brown too. I've noticed that with proper diet, light, and heat that his tail has gotten more striped green and brown with only about the last 1/3 of it still brown. As I understand it, as long as the tail doesn't look all dry or brittle, or damaged, it should be OK. Mods??

If the tail is brown striped its normal. If it is solid brown along the length it may have beem broken off and regenerated. In the case of a young ig it may develop stripes or it may stay brown.

its a brown strip but its dry. it also has a little crink in the very end. when I took him to the vet it was brown but no crink and the vet didnt say anything about it. should I take him back? the vet already cost me 400.00 and that was less than a week ago. I really dont wanna incure any more vet bills if I dont need to.

Can you post a picture of it? That would be a big help. Its a bit difficult trying to guess what someone means in a post when they don't have anything to compare it to. The skin on the tail does normally feel a bit coarser and drier than the rest of the body. It may be nothing but then again better to be safe.
