Thanks for adding those threads. If anyone wants any more details or information on the cage I built, feel free to e-mail or message me. I am more than happy to help you out in any way I can.

Very cool link...I love the outdoor one that's on stilts! Although I would'nt have made that roof for it though.

Shortey's new cage!! He is loving it, although it is quite large for him at the moment!! He doesn't go any further down than the second shelf.. If you look real close at the first picture, you will see him up on the top shelf on the far left side [just his head].. Gives perspective on his size and the size of the cage!!

Actualy, No she doesn't.. That picture was taken when I first put her in. The food and her water dish are located on the second shelf.. She likes her food so it only took once of me picking her off the top shelf and putting on the second for her to know exactly where it was from then out. Although she did venture down all by herself yesterday to check things out. She didn't stay long but at least she went that far. The rock on the bottom of the cage now has holes in it and the humidifier is a rocking at night. Where you see the food sitting, there is 2 small screens 4" in diamiter and a small fan sits outside of the cage and blows in to circulate the air.. Otherwise it gets pretty warm in there. Basking light is in the far left corner and the blue light for night time [set on dim] is next and then the UVB ['which is located so that it can hit both shelves] and then the CHE. Everything is on timers which is realy nice.

Hi my name is Marlize I’m from SA. This is the first time I’m using a forum so I’m still learning ha-ha; D. I always wanted an Iguana and at the age of 22 (almost 23) I decided that now is the right time to do so.
To start of with, I don’t have one yet. I'm still learning more about them (after reading so much about them, I definitely still want one) I know a lot about them at this point but there are still so much to learn.
I got a quotation on a cage to be made out of wood from a carpenter, but before I ask the guy to continue building it, I would like to ask people that have experience and knowledge about their habitat a few questions.
1 the cage will be 2.5(m) in length 3(m) in height and 1.5(m) in Diameter. (I’m planning to get a small iguana to start of with so won’t be able to give his or her size or age at this point. What I want to know is weather the size of the cage would be fit for a first time small iguana and up and till what age will the cage be fit for a healthy in captive iguana. (Plus/minus) I know it’s hard to say because it depends on the exercise and the diet he/she gets)
2 I would just like some ideas what to do on the inside (best stuff to use for instance)
